I enrolled in a ceramics class this term and it's been fun, but frustrating because who knew how hard it would be to mold clay? We started off with hand building projects, but now we've moved on to wheel-throwing. My teacher asked us to make ten 6-inch cylinders, in my attempt to make my cylinders I kept messing up. My clay would not stand and it kept falling over. I was getting upset with myself and I kept taking the clay off and throwing it into a big slab. I had an epiphany! In the same way the clay tumbles over and messes up, that's exactly how we are with GOD! We are always messing up and going in the wrong direction, but God's hand is always holding us and molding us. I can't imagine how often He gets frustrated molding us from the same lump of clay, but in the end it'll turn into a master piece. His grace is enough for me.
"Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?" Romans 9:21
Sorry I know I haven't blogged, but I realize how much spare time I have, so this is where I'll be spending a lot of my time.
